Backcountry Beta: Packing For The Backcountry

Backcountry Beta: Packing For The Backcountry

We have learned skills how to tune our bodies and our minds, pro tips on route finding, terrain choices ,and map building. Now it’s time to get into the always pertinent and sometimes overwhelming question, “What the fuck do I bring in my pack?” And Erika Florian is going to help us navigate this in our third Backcountry Beta event in partnership with TREW Gear of the season.

In this session, Erika will  be giving a full disclosure of everything she puts in her backpack for a day trip into the backcountry. From your beacon all the way to duct tape and repair equipment, she'll also go over how she decides how much food to bring.

When: Wednesday, January 3rd at 5 pm PST

Where: On the Zooms

How: Join the Coalition Clubhouse and register for the event!

About the Speaker: My name is Erika Florian, I grew up as a ski racer on the east coast before moving to Montana in 2017 to pursue backcountry skiing and a career in nursing. I'm a full time Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Unit in Kalispell as well as an ambassador for Trew Gear and Atomic skis. I’ve been recreating in the backcountry on skis for 6 years now and I will always have more to learn. But I have always felt the desire to share what knowledge I do have with the community.
