Backcountry Beta: Confidently Lead a Backcountry Tour

Backcountry Beta: Confidently Lead a Backcountry Tour

Our final installment of this year's Backcountry Beta in partnership with TREW Gear is a one-hour workshop designed to provide you with the tools to confidently lead a backcountry tour, whether it’s skinning up your local mountain, or pursuing a big peak. The session will be led by Erika Florian, an AIARE Level 1, Level 2, and Rescue-certified backcountry skier. Erika has experienced the all too common barriers that come along with being a woman in this space, and it’s time to break down the walls!

When: Thursday, March 13th at 5 pm PST

Where: Zoom

How: Register here

What: A workshop for people who have never been the leader of a backcountry tour or people who are looking to be more effective leaders in the backcountry.

More about our Speaker Erika Florian:

Erika spent most of her life ski racing on the East Coast before moving to Montana and transitioning to backcountry skiing in 2018. She is certified in AIARE Level 1, Level 2, and Rescue. She spends the majority of her time exploring and skiing in the backcountry. A nurse by trade, she is currently taking a year off to pursue life on the road, living in a van with her husband Will and her dog, Tally.
