Kula Cloth® | Tallac Moon Artist Series

$22.95
Have you ever been to Lake Tahoe? If not, you definitely should go. The Desolation Wilderness is one of the most beautiful places in the entire world.  I climbed Mt. Tallac many years ago, and I've had the amazing opportunity to backpack in the Desolation Wilderness many times. On two of those occasions, I was caught in a blizzard... and on one occasion, we had to bail on our trip because my mom's tent zipper failed after being completely covered in ice.

Sometimes things don't go the way you planned ... but do you know what? Maybe they went the way that they were supposed to. We hiked out that day and it was one of the most beautiful days of hiking that we've ever shared. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to explore nature, and also so grateful that nature consistently reminds us to be in awe of its power and vastness.

When I first saw this Kula print, it made me smile because it really captured the awe and wonder that I felt looking at Mt. Tallac on that morning after the ice storm. I hope that it reminds you of a beautiful memory too.  Thank you to Emily for creating such a beautiful piece and for sharing it with all of us!

Love,
Anastasia -- Kula Founder

About the artist, Emily LaVelle:

Emily is a deaf artist living in Northern California. She became deaf at 18 months old and throughout her life as used art to express her thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Emily was 16 when her mother passed away suddenly after battling pancreatic cancer for 4 short months. Emily’s dream of becoming an artist just like her mom was shattered because of grief and heartbreak. Instead of following her artistic passion Emily chose to pursue nursing. Feeling unfulfilled and listening to the call of her deepest passion, Emily has since found her voice and returned to her dreams of doing art full time.

About Us

Women Owned & Operated

We knew we deserved better equipment and a community that saw us, heard us, valued us, and put us front and center. So we said goodbye to shrink-it-and-pink-it and toxic bro culture and said hello to something more: a community that values camaraderie over competition, solidarity over sending, and compassion over cuntery.

Performance Driven

We believe that the recipe for making a kick-ass pair of skis or snowboards has nothing to do with what's between your legs but what's between your ears and in your heart. We start with a concept that meets our unique needs and work with a team of engineers to bring our designs to life. We manufacture in reputable factories that prioritize the health and safety of their team and the environment. We test, bring in our Ambassadors and Athletes (did you know that our skis have been in the Olympics?), refine, and then deliver a finished product to you.

Building An Inclusive Community

From the beginning, we’ve been willing to do and say what our peers won’t. There is no place for the status quo, no room for hanging back, no time for wait or play it safe. In everything we create, we aim to make a positive impact in the world of snowsports and beyond. And that’s what makes us different. We're Coalition Snow, and we're the ones we've been waiting for.
