Tech Specs

Tip & Tail Rocker
Tip and Tail Rocker (420 mm tip / 330 mm tail) with 2mm mild camber underfoot.

  • Easy turn initiation - The rocker in the tip and tail help the ski pivot smoothly into turns
  • Stable on groomed runs - The camber underfoot keeps you connected to the snow for precise control
  • Floats in powder - The rockered tip won't dive or catch in soft snow
  • Forgiving - Less likely to catch an edge compared to full-camber skis

Sidecut
The 18-21m sidecut on the Rafiki has a longer, medium turn radius. This sweet spot ensures easy turn initiation in many conditions, without compromising stability and control, especially at speed.

  • Medium turn radius - The longer radius provides the perfect sweet spot for versatile skiing
  • Easy turn initiation - Ensures smooth turn entry in many different conditions
  • High-speed stability - Won't compromise stability and control, especially at speed
  • Reliable performance - Consistent turn shape across varying terrain and conditions

FSC Certified Birch & Poplar Wood Core

Birch wood is durable, responsive, and lively. It transmits your movements directly to the snow and doesn't feel dead or dull. Poplar makes the ski feel lively and reduces weight.

Triaxial Fiberglass Laminates

  • Torsional strength - Resists twisting when you're on edge
  • Smooth power transfer - Your energy goes efficiently into the turn
  • Consistent flex - The ski bends predictably from tip to tail
  • Dampens vibration - Reduces chatter at high speeds

IS 7500 Sintered Base

  • Fast - Sintered bases glide better than extruded bases
  • Durable - Harder than extruded bases, resisting scratches and gouges
  • Repairable - Our bases are 1.3 mm thick, which is thicker than industry standard so you can stone grind the base more times

1.7mm Steel Edges

Lightweight 1.7mm steel edges that won't dull quickly and grip hard snow and ice.

Is This The Right Ski For Me?

If you're looking for a proper powder ski or a ski that can you can use both in the backcountry and at the resort, the Rafiki is your best option. It's made from the same core materials as our La Nieve backcountry ski and is just as wide, but will perform better on in-bounds terrain.

Limited Edition & Small Batch

Rafiki means “friend” in Swahili and pays tribute to the trees that we plant in Kenya for every ski and snowboard we make. Indeed, this surfy pow slayer will be your best buddy when the snow flies.

🌲 Trees & Tight Spaces - The pivoty and nimble design twists through tight trees with ease, while rocker in the tips handles crud and bumps upfront. The medium turn radius ensures easy turn initiation without compromising control in technical terrain.

🧊 Ice & Hardpack - Camber underfoot allows full control on groomers, while the blended wood core of FSC certified poplar and birch improves core stability in firm conditions. This ski is a bit wide for boilerplate conditions and will feel unstable on ice.

⛷️ Big Lines & Steep Terrain - The 18-21m sidecut provides stability and control especially at speed, while early-rise tip profile delivers off-piste stability. The medium turn radius sweet spot maintains control without compromising performance on steep terrain.

❄️ Powder & Variable Conditions - Ample rocker in the tip and tail provide a floaty ride through deep snow and the wide waist keeps you afloat.

🐪 Moguls & Bumps - The pivoty design handles bumps with ease, but the wide width underfoot is less than ideal for moguls, so don't try to keep up with Hannah Kearney.

🎢 Park & Freestyle - Slightly eased tails enhance control for landings, while the balanced profile with camber underfoot provides solid edge grip and pop for takeoffs. The Rafiki is a bit wide for rails and boxes but can be quite fun on sidehits and jumps.

Rafiki Powder Ski received the Best of Award from Blister Gear

What She Said...

"You'll be skiing with friends on a powder day with these lovelies on your feet, 'cause the Rafikis are definitely your friend in the pow (or really any other terrain and conditions)! They float effortlessly through deep snow anywhere from mellow glades to gnarly steeps, but also ski surprisingly awesomely anywhere from the slush to crud, and even hold their own on the groomers. If you're looking for a responsive ski that's a blast to ski, the Rafikis are for you!" ~ Ali G.
