ATHLETES & AMBASSADORS

  • Meet Coalition Snow Athlete Ione Gangoiti Perez

In the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains is a small mountain town Formigal where freeskier Ione is from. Growing up she was surrounded by family and friends who are all skiers, so it was only destiny that she too fell in love with the same mountain culture as well. For the past six years you’d most likely find her shredding the gnarliest lines in Whistler or competing in the qualifiers for the Freeride World Tour. This summer, she’s got plans to follow the snow to South America.

  • A Fresh Face in Snowboarding

Coalition Snow Ambassador Latasha Dunston grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore without any inkling about snowboarding, let along the outdoors industry. With a Coalition board strapped to her feet she’s now changing the narrative for her community of People of Color (POC) to get in the mountains as well.
  • Supermom of Snowboarding

“I’m 52 years old and every single job I’ve done has been outside,” Penney Stahl stated. Since starting out as a snowboard instructor in Maryland, Penney has been able to mix her passion for snow sliding, the outdoors and empowering other women to create a meaningful career path. She has been a key player for a women’s snowboard camp called SheRide as well as a youth-at-risk nonprofit called Snowboard Outreach Society. Currently she’s a physiotherapist for family therapy for wilderness program in Durango and works as a ground crew member for the airport. Not to mention, doing it all while raising her own family.
