It’s no secret that running a small business is a tough job—from keeping up with the latest trends, to staying competitive and wearing a million hats. But it’s even tougher when you consider that despite generating more revenue on average, women-owned businesses receive less than half the investment that male entrepreneurs do.

That’s why it’s vital we all support women-owned brands. Our businesses count on you, our community, to shop with your values. If you’d like to see your favorite women-owned small businesses thrive, shop small and women-owned this holiday season.

Adventurist Soap Co is a small black woman-owned brand that makes natural, eco-friendly soap made for the conscious outdoor enthusiast. Based in Morrison, CO all the products are named after the Rocky Mountains and terms commonly used in the outdoor community. allmansright is a small brand based out of the Bronx, NY making high quality, light weight gear to get people into the outdoors. Their name, “allmansright” comes from the Sweedish law that allows all people the freedom to roam, they believe everyone should have access to the outdoors and a large part of their mission is to diversify and create a more accessible outdoor community. Alpine Parrot is a technical outdoor apparel brand that makes outdoor clothing for women sizes 14-24 (and soon up to size 30). Owned and created by Raquel Vélez, Alpine Parrot was created to include women of all shapes and sizes in the outdoors. They are known particularly for their Ponderosa hiking pant that won an award from the Outside Summer Gear Guide. Founded by Martha Yolanda Díaz, Itacate is a women owned and operated outdoor company creating Latin backpacking food like Charge Up Chilaquiles for adventures with great taste and strong values. Martha was inspired to found Itacate when she fell in love with backpacking while in college, but was intimidated by the lack of diversity and inclusion in the outdoors. Tough Cutie is a high quality WOC-owned sock brand that makes technical sock for women that are more than just “pretty and pink.” They are meant to take women on all the adventures they may go, and hold up. Wild Brush is small gear focused woman-owned brand striving to rid the world of boring, unfunctional gear. The founder, Julianne Mahoney created the brand as she was tired of uninspired gear, so she decided to start her own!
