There's a reason why Japan is a bucket list destination for skiers and snowboarders: It's unlike anywhere else in the world. We began running our ski and snowboard group tours in Japan in 2023, and it brings us so much joy to share the places we love with others.
Here are the top five reasons why you should consider joining our group tour for women and nonbinary identifying folk to ski or snowboard in one of our favorite places in the world.
1. World-Class Powder Snow: Japan is renowned for its incredibly light, dry powder snow, which is why it's earned the moniker "Japow." The unique climate conditions create some of the best snow quality in the world that will have you giggling and squealing in joy all the way down the mountain. You can trust us to take you resorts that are a bit more off the beaten path so you can spend more time skiing and less time waiting in line.
2. Diverse Terrain: You don’t have to be an expert skier or snowboarder to join us in Japan. The mountains in Japan offer a wide variety of terrain from intermediate-friendly slopes to more challenging tree runs. For our trips we do recommend that you are comfortable with skiing and snowboarding deep powder, but if you are at the beginning of your progression in the sport, message us and we can discuss options for you to join!
3. Supportive, Judgment-Free Environment: Our tours center the experiences of women, nonbinary, and trans identifying folk. We curate a comfortable and safe space where you can learn, improve, and challenge yourself without feeling self-conscious. With terrain choices from intermediate to expert, you can choose to push yourself or not, without any judgement from the group. And no one is going to stop you from having a sleep in and day at an onsen because self care is important.
4. Onsen Experience: You know where you'll find us after a day on the slopes! There's nothing better than soaking in a natural hot spring rich in tradition. A trip to the onsen is not like a late night hot tub experience; it’s a ritual that we relish. There are yes’s and no’s when it comes to soaking in an onsen, and make sure you’re in the know through our monthly Q&A Sessions. Bonus: The lodging you will stay in on our tours has onsen on-site! And in Nozawa Onsen, there are 14 free local onsen you can visit seven days a week.
5. Delicious Food: Japanese cuisine is a highlight of any trip to the country. We’ll take you to our favorite conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Tokyo and you’ll love the Japanese breakfasts included with our trips. Every day you'll have the opportunity to try local specialties and après-ski treats with your tour group, and we’ll create lasting memories over shared dinners.
There's something special about the bonds formed over shared adventures. A women's-only ski trip to Japan is the perfect opportunity to make lifelong friends who share your love for winter sports and travel. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a progressing intermediate, our women’s and nonbinary ski and snowboard tour in Japan is an experience that will challenge you, inspire you, and leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
